The Opportunity

Britain has the capital, the talent and the investment opportunities to deliver better outcomes for pension savers and stronger long-term growth.

UK pension funds hold in excess of £3 trillion in assets today and are forecast to grow to in excess of £5 trillion by 2034 (including £1.5 trillion of defined contribution pension assets). Less than 5% of current allocation is dedicated to UK private markets — while international peers target allocations in the region of 30 to 50%.

Meanwhile, the UK faces significant investment needs: c.£70 billion per year for net-zero infrastructure alone, an undersupply of housing and a scale-up capital gap that limits the ability of UK companies to grow and commercialise.

The Mansion House Compact and Accord represent the most significant shift in UK pension policy in a generation — unlocking £150 billion or more into productive domestic assets by 2030.

Why We Built This

In 2023, I was part of the team that assisted in the rescue of Silicon Valley Bank UK in its sale to HSBC to create HSBC Innovation Bank. What struck me most was what this transaction revealed regarding the state of UK growth and private markets investment. Eighty to ninety percent of growth investment in the UK was being made by firms representing non-UK capital. UK pension funds, holding trillions in long-term savings, were almost entirely absent from the domestic private markets.

I had spent my career at Goldman Sachs and Rothschild. I understood how capital markets are structured — and I understood why UK pension funds weren't participating. The platforms that existed were designed for global mandates and global economics. Their fee structures, their governance, their incentives — none of it was built for the UK pension industry's needs. Nobody had built the institution this moment demanded.

Point Break Partners is that institution. Not a fund. A co-owned platform — to be built alongside the pensions industry, accountable to it at the structural level and aligned with it on every decision that matters. Britain's long-term savings should play a pivotal role in British private markets. The only question is whether the right platform exists to deploy it responsibly, efficiently and at scale.

We believe it does now.

The PBP Model

The platforms that exist weren't built for you.
We built something that is.

Point Break Partners is a co-owned, UK-focused, multi-asset private markets platform built from the ground up for UK pension capital and other sources of long-term patient capital focused on UK private markets investment.

1

Co-Owned

Asset owners and investors will receive equity in the management company itself. Your economics are aligned to ours at the platform level.

2

UK-Only

Every pound we deploy goes into UK growth companies, infrastructure, real estate, private equity and private credit. Exclusively domestic. By design.

3

Fully Aligned

Fee cards designed for pension fund clients. Performance-linked incentives. Comprehensive and extensive co-investment opportunities. Every structural decision made to align platform outcomes with asset owner outcomes.

4

Technology-Enabled

Free from legacy. We leverage advanced technology, data and AI-driven analytics to originate, structure and manage investments more efficiently.

Multi-asset means one institutional-grade platform — not five separate relationships, five separate due diligences, five separate fee negotiations. One integrated platform, one governance framework, one aligned team.

We are building investment fund structures bespoke for the pension fund community and sources of long-term patient capital across all five strategies.

Our Mission

This is bigger than a fund.

Point Break Partners exists to be the platform that channels Britain's long-term pension capital into productive domestic assets — responsibly, efficiently and at scale.

As a co-owned institution built for the long-term benefit of its asset owners — including attractive asset owner economics, full alignment and a mandate rooted in the UK need.

Positioned at the intersection of the Mansion House Compact, the Accord and the UK's productive finance agenda — we are building the platform this moment demands.
